What makes a community?

Their are many variables needed to create a solid community.  I will explain the three that I feel are the most important.  The first is economy, without a solid economy in a community, it will be hard for expansion to take place.  Without expansion, a community does not have the opportunity to build appropriate ties to other places that will in the future be a aid to them.  The second important thing needed for a solid community is interaction/communication.  Without communication it makes it hard for a community to interact with each other; a community cannot be strong if their is no form of interaction or relationships being build.  The third most important variable needed for a solid community is a leader.  This I believe is the most important of the three needed to form a community.  The leader helps direct the community; without direction how can a community expect to expand.
